POEM: Mint (2017)

r what.

Mint

.

For what it’s worth:-

The men love the sloppy noises

With eyes closed

The slap and the slap and the slap…

.

And on a boundary

I drew diagrams of the heart

We lean in two

And into the dim

.

And until dawn

The men love the breath-chant banter

With eyes closed

Silent (k)nights silently, silencing

.

But have you ever tried?

(unwittingly)?

And have you ever lied?

(unknowingly)?

After the “glow”

Floods in the “know”

Unwittingly &

Unknowingly &

Have you?

.

Moreover it’s refreshing to know: –

That you now know

What you didn’t know;

How many times

I tried

To keep you

From falling
